First of all, I’m Dave. I’m a freelance writer specialising in case studies and content writing services living in the north west of England (despite being Scottish). Nice to meet you. Now, onto the important stuff.
I live and breathe content writing
I started Proof of Content because I’m sick of generic, bland content that does absolutely nothing. That says nothing. That means nothing.
Content connects people; it educates and convinces people. But only if it’s genuine and authentic.
I know that content resource is always close to the chopping block when budgets are decided, so my job is to deliver content that brings real results you can report back with, whether that’s traffic, authority, conversions, or another metric you’re focused on.
I know, I know: what about AI tools?
Well, AI can’t make content that resonates with people. It takes what’s already been loaded into the tool or what it finds online and regurgitates it into more of the same. There’s no expertise, no experience, no authority.
Most importantly, there’s no trust.
When you work with me, I’m not going to give you something that’s been written elsewhere in a different way. Whether it’s a different angle, a new perspective, or a unique thought, there are ways to assert your authority and add value to a topic, and I’ll help you stand out from the competition.

My goal is to fit seamlessly within your current processes and workflows. I take on the tasks you don’t have the time or resource to handle and deliver with minimal fuss and stress.

Credentials? How about my experience?
I have 13 years’ experience under my belt in digital content, and over 25 years’ experience as a writer more generally.
Having worked in bustling digital marketing agencies, managing B2B and B2C clients across a wide variety of industries, adapting to brand guidelines and distinct voices is second nature to me. Add to the mix my experience living and working in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, in-house roles with local, national, and international brands, well…let’s just say I understand the content needs of almost any size of business.
That’s the professional background, the “why you should work with me” bit. What you need to know, though, is I’m a writer through and through. Stories. Fiction. Books. I write because I love it. I live for it. It’s rare a single day goes by I don’t write. In fact, I’ve written and published four fiction books already.
I test boundaries and I break rules. I find the best ways to connect with my readers because that’s what really matters. That’s how to get a message across. To connect with people.
