Content writing services for B2B and B2C brands

Content writing is a must-have for any brand serious about growth and making money. From conversion-focused copy that drives users to take the next desired action to educational and informative content that engages and entertains, there are plenty of opportunities to grab.

My focus is on content that performs, encouraging users through the marketing funnel to make the decisions you want. That might be buying a product, signing up to a service, joining a mailing list, and more. I do this with well-researched, accurate, and useful content that’s optimised for traditional and AI search.

Content writing that beats content slop, written by a human for other humans

Content is the backbone of the web, and I’m a firm believer in adding value to everything I write, whether that’s data, expert insight, or personal experience. I make sure to answer the questions readers are searching for while making content interesting and engaging.

Generative AI cannot add the value that makes content writing stand out from the crowd.

How does working with a freelance content writer help your business?

I know firsthand that content can fall down the list of priorities when other things pop up, but putting content on the backburner halts the progress you’ve made. Think of me as an extra pair of hands with one priority: content writing.

I’ll keep the momentum going and action your plan with content that your audience will remember.

My process for content writing

Here’s what to expect

Intro and scope

We’ll schedule a call to get to know each other before discussing your needs. This is the time to ask all the questions we have, such as ways of working, processes, and all the admin topics.

Project outline

Once I have a clear idea of what you need, I’ll send a document with the project outline. This includes everything we discussed, timeframes and deadlines, deliverables, and the cost.

Create the content

I’ll research, write, and edit your content before sending it over for you to review, following any brand guidelines and style guides, including page titles and meta descriptions.

Feedback and edits

You can review the content I send and make any notes or required edits in the document. I’ll keep a note of any edits to ensure they’re addressed in future pieces of content.

Implement edits

I’ll implement the edits you request. Early on in our working relationship, it’s not uncommon for content to go through multiple editing rounds, but this should decrease over time.

Sign-off

Written confirmation to state you’re happy with the content marks the conclusion of that piece. Once signed-off, the content is yours to use and can be published at any time.

Your content writing deliverables

Here’s what to expect when you choose me for content writing:

  • A document outlining what the project involves
  • Clear timeframes and deadlines
  • Drafts for you to feed back on
  • A final version that’s ready for you to publish
  • Page titles and meta descriptions for each piece of content.

Content writing FAQs

Content writing is the creation of written content used on a variety of mediums, such as text on a website, blogs, product information, marketing collateral, and more. Content writers may specialise in a type of content or on a specific topic, or both, but they can also be flexible and work across a range of content types and topics. Written content can be used to inform, educate, entertain, and persuade readers depending on the goals of the individual piece.

That ultimately depends on the content you want. Some pieces can be turned around quite quickly, if time and resources allow. When discussing your needs, we’ll outline the expected timelines and delivery dates, so everything is clear from the beginning of a project.

Absolutely. I’ve worked with a wide-range of brands in the UK, the US, Europe, Australia, and Aotearoa New Zealand over my career, so adapting to different tones and styles is second nature to me.

Provide me with a tone of voice and/or brand guidelines document and my content writing will adapt to those requirements.

I don’t use generative AI to produce any content.

While AI tools have their uses, experience has taught me that engagement drops with content produced with generative AI. Using AI to create early drafts that I can edit also slows down my processes, so it’s not a tool I utilise in content writing.

I allow for two rounds of feedback and edits as standard, with more available as an optional extra, however I’m often flexible with small tweaks.

More edits might be necessary on the first pieces as we get to know each other but this should drop over time. If there’s a constant back and forth on something, we can discuss the situation and decide the best way forward.
